The Story

1980

The Okano story is one of family, passion, and precision. It’s one focused on the power of touch and a belief in meticulous attention to detail. It’s one grounded by an unwavering commitment to the pursuit of perfection.

It begins in Shima Peninsula in Mie Prefecture, Japan, with the art and discipline of samurai and ends with the finest hand-crafted golf clubs known to man. Our founder, Jiichiro Okano, set out to make something elegant and refined, to create something beautiful, with the highest degree of integrity, something that isn’t done in the golf industry.

His patience and unique process ensures the grain of the steel or titanium is fine and uniformed, leading to a feel unlike anything else. The Okano feel. Every club is hand-crafted, one-by-one, and touched by Okano-San or one of his two best friend, Shinei and Yoshitaka.

Pursuit of Perfection

Okano has been making the world’s finest golf clubs since 1980. Designed and constructed by master craftsman Jiichiro Okano, each club is individually made using Okano’s patented process. To this day, Okano-san continues to work in the factory with his best friend, Shinei and Yoshitaka.

Principles of Design

In the pursuit to create the perfect clubs, Okano-san recognized it was necessary to set a brand new standard of design. Using his quest for perfection as a tool for reinvention, Okano-san implemented distinct principles that after 40 years, still lead the design process today.
